Earth Day

We have sponsored Earth Day every year since we began our coalition to help the community better understand the changes happening to and on our earth. We're working to help people understand the changes we, as a group, can make in our everyday life to mitigate these significant global changes and adapt to what is already happening and what will happen in the future.  This year, 2023, we had the largest attendance ever.  We had great presenters and speakers including Dr. Jeffrey Langdren, UNM Co-Chair of the Sustainability committee; Kaveh Kamenough, Better Tomorrow Solar, Citizens Climate Lobby, Georgia Forest Watch, Ending Food Waste (MG Finch), Upper Etowah River Alliance, Dawson County Government.  In addition, for the children we had an Essay Contest for 3-5 grades in Dawson County, face painting, a free book, Storey Time, and a craft table.  We had an Auction Raffle table with great items to win, and also a sales table with many homemade items. Hot dogs, drinks, and chips were served on the patio, and an EV Car show with 19 cars including 2 Ford Lightning Trucks was in the adjoining Parking lot.

Thank you for attending!  It was a successful event, and we hope you enjoy the pictures.
